Skip The Emergencies This October 31st!

You know that Halloween is certainly the time of year during which the spooky, scary things happen, which leave you with a chill running down your spine! Of course, this is all supposed to be in good fun! While you may enjoy participating in this holiday, our Pella, IA team strongly suggests you don’t get so into it that you accidentally end up with a very frightening dental emergency! What types of things might you need to beware of to ensure you get to stay at your party, rather than finding yourself sitting in our dental chair instead? We’ve got some ideas for you to think about.

Watch Where You’re Walking

You are really going to want to watch where you’re walking during this Halloween and every one after it! You may be quite used to saying this to your children but it might be advice that you forget to offer yourself. Remember, you don’t usually walk around the neighborhood in the dark with your kids, you don’t always go to parties wearing a costume that obscures your vision, etc. There are many factors that can lead to tripping, falling, and a dental emergency. Be careful, find a way to light your path, and you’ll be just fine.

Watch For Things You Know You Shouldn’t Eat

There are things you know without a shadow of a doubt that you should not be eating because they can send you right into our practice for a dental emergency visit. We encourage you to avoid these things! Don’t let the lovely aura of Halloween trick you into believing these treats will magically not harm your smile this year. Instead, avoid them! Whether it’s candy with very hard nuts, something with a very stick outer coating, etc., find something easier on the teeth.
