If you don’t floss daily, you’re not doing yourself any favors. In fact, your putting your oral health in harm’s way. Every time you don’t floss, you leave plaque behind. That plaque can get very hard within a matter of only one day. Then, when you go to clean your teeth, you remove new plaque and debris but the old plaque has become tartar and will stay right where it is. See what we mean? Floss every day to keep your smile safe.
There’s no reason any part of your dental hygiene should be painful. If it hurts to floss, call us. If it hurts to brush your smile, call us. Keep in mind, as well, that you don’t need to be harsh with your smile. Instead, avoid aggressive motions and instead focus on providing yourself with very gentle and complete care. That’s where prevention shines!
As mentioned, if you’re not serious about complete dental hygiene, you’re taking away from the option of enjoying a very healthy grin. Don’t assume that you should focus your care only on certain areas, such as your front visible teeth. You need it throughout your whole mouth! Floss all teeth (and floss the back surfaces of back teeth, as well), so you know you’re doing your best.
We are always more than pleased to guide you in the dental hygiene department, so you know you’re doing an effective job in caring for your smile. To learn more, schedule an appointment with your dentist by calling Allen & Neumann Family Dentistry in Pella, IA, today at (641) 628-1121.
